Rachel Thornley
Executive Director
After many years of chaotic substance use, Rachel moved to North Carolina for a fresh start in 2008 to seek out a path that would allow her to make a difference. She began volunteering with TCHRC in March of 2017, where she developed her passion for harm reduction. She holds a BA in Health and Human Services. In her downtime, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her daughter, and spoiling her two cats.

Joel Bush
Drop-in Supervisor
A Greensboro native who believes people should simply care for one another. Has maintained a lifelong interest in social causes. Committed exclusively to nonprofit work, avoiding corporate careers in favor of positions with meaningful impact. Passionate about music, veganism, animal rights, politics, and mutual aid efforts.

Nanu Pardo
Development and Grant Manager
Originally from Florida with Venezuelan roots, they now call Winston-Salem home. They are deeply committed to human rights and cultivating community. Volunteering since 2024 while working toward a BA in Nonprofit Studies, they discovered a passion for harm reduction. Outside of work, they enjoy video games, movies, politics, mutual aid, crafting, and spending time with their three cats.

Matt Cooley
Harm Reduction Outreach Worker
A Winston-Salem native, Matt now uses his varying experiences with substance use in our community to serve PWUD through our mobile outreach service. In his downtime, he enjoys making music, hiking, and hanging out with his cat.
